On SH 77 Inland Scenic Route 72, 56 minutes southwest of Christchurch (57km), 15 minutes from Darfield, 29km north of Methven. Attractions include two 90-minute walking tracks alongside what was an old historic railway line. Pause at the entrance to the tunnel after which the Glen has been named. This is known as The Millenium Walkway. There is also a river and hilltop walk 2km from the lodge. Well established and quiet area.

Midway between Mt Hutt and Porter Heights ski fields (1/2 hour drive to either). Listen to the Ski Report in the morning and have the luxury of choosing which skifield will suit depending on the weather.
